The Farmworkers Community Center offers so much for you and your family, including a food pantry; clothing donations; and a community room where farmworkers can come to relax, socialize, and watch TV. Outreach staff routinely travels to farmworker housing to present Salud Para Todos, a drug and alcohol abuse awareness program. This educational program aims to inform farmworkers about the dangers of substance abuse and encourage anyone who may have a problem to seek assistance. Additionally, 2 representatives from the New York State Department of Labor are available in the Alamo to assist farmworkers with employment matters.
Weekly programs include:
- English as a Second Language (ESL) Class
- Homework assistance, exercise classes
- New and expecting teen mother’s support group
- Y.O.L.O. (Young Outstanding Latina Organization): a teen girl’s leadership group
- Boy’s Council
During the winter months, a weekly hot meal is served on Sundays to farmworkers and their families.
