HRHCare Launches Residency Program for Nurse Practitioners with a Focus on Rural/Migrant Health

Peekskill, New York. – HRHCare is pleased to announce the launch of a Family Nurse Practitioner Residency Training Program. This residency program will provide intensive training in both the clinical complexity of family practice in the safety net setting, and training in the Patient Centered Medical Home model for primary care.  The year-long residency will incorporate significant rural/migrant health experience, and include a one-year employment commitment. On Saturday, March 18th, Wilfredo Morel, Director of Hispanic Services at HRHCare, was honored by the Westchester NAACP ACT-SO Coalition at the 34th Annual ACT-SO Community Awards Breakfast. Mr. Morel was presented with a community service award for his significant service and leadership in the African American community of Peekskill. The other honorees this year were Lena Anderson, Esq., Program Developer at Legacy Pathways and President of the White Plains/Greenburgh Branch of the NAACP; DaMia Harris-Maden, Executive Director of the Mt. Vernon Youth Bureau; and Francis Welch, retired White Plains public school teacher.
